Dogs on the beach
Access to the beach with dogs is not allowed from 15 March to 15 October, between 10 am and 8 pm. The only exception is the beach in Het Zoute, to the east of Surfers Paradise. From 16 October to 14 March, they are welcome all day on the entire beach.
Dogs do not have to be kept on a leash on the beach. Owners must always keep their off-leash dogs under control and must not disturb public order on the beach.
The following is mandatory for dog owners:
- They must carry a dog dirt disposal bag.
- They must remove dog dirt immediately.
- Bags must be deposited in a communal waste bin or disposed of at home in standard household waste containers.
Infringements will be penalised with a municipal administrative sanction of maximum 250 euros.
Horses on the beach
Access to the beach with horses is prohibited from 15 March to 15 October. The only exception is the beach in Het Zoute, to the east of Surfers Paradise.
