From 2 July 2023 to 30 August 2023, the seafront (Zeedijk) and the Antoine Bréartstreet (Antoine Bréartstraat) will be partially closed to traffic with barriers. During the summer holidays, the promenade will be traffic-free every day from 11.00 a.m.
Car access is only possible with a special badge or for the emergency services. If you feel that you would qualify for an access badge, you can submit an application via the municipal electronic counter. Click here for further information.
On the following days, it will be possible to drive across Zeedijk during the day: 31 July and 1 August.
The following locations are barrier-controlled (closed to traffic):
- Lekkerbekhelling (Het Zoute), from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 a.m.
- Albertplein Oost (Het Zoute), from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
- Antoine Bréartstraat (Het Zoute), from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
- Lichttorenplein Oost (Knokke), from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
- Lichttorenplein West (Knokke), from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
- Van Bunnenplein entrance above square (Knokke), from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 a.m.
- Paul Parmentierlaan (Knokke), from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
- Rubensplein entrance to parking area (Albertstrand), from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
- Rubensplein near shoe shop Sandra 1 (Albertstrand), from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 a.m.
- Rubensplein near Brasserie Rubens (Albertstrand), from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 a.m.
- Canadasquare West, from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
- Majoor Quaillestraat (Duinbergen), from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
- Zeedijk near Duinbergenlaan (Duinbergen), from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
- Parkstraat (Heist), from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
- De Wandelaar between the RBSC (Duinbergen) traffic and pedestrian section is always closed.
IRONMAN triathlons: on 16 and 17 September 2023, the entire seafront (both footpath and roadway) will be closed for the races. The barriers on the side streets (Rubensplein and A. Breartstraat) will then close the Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
